Rated 4 out of 5 by Ralph from This product offers some peace of mind when away from home. I have had the existing mobile link system installed for approaching 6 years. I love receiving text messages when the generator is running, particularly if we are not at home.
I do, however, believe Generac could improve the service by monitoring the transfer switch as well as the generator. Currently, if there is a power failure, a message is sent that indicates the generator is running. But you need to trust that the transfer switch operated as intended and the loads are actually being provided with power from the generator.
This has always seemed like a huge gap in the monitoring process. Date published: Our service provider installed the newer 46 LTE device and handed my wife the box with the old transmitter, but did not tell her anything.
Since it was trash day I threw out the old transmitter, but fortunately kept the box for the new transmitter. It wasn't until I realized that the generator was not connected to Mobile Link and went online to see what I needed to do , that I realized I needed the serial number of the old transmitter to transfer my service. I went to the Mobile Link website on a Saturday night, seeking help, and honestly did not expect to hear back until some time on Monday at the earliest.
Once connected, on your phone open the mobile link option on your camera, be patient while it connects, and voila! The actual transfer process was quick and seamless! I have used it in the past and it works fine. Now I am on vacation, I open the app it tells me to connect to wifi and I do, but still not recognizing that in the app. Is it because I am not on wifi otherwise? I don't think I had that issue before. It's kind of frustrating. But not a big deal, I don't completely need to upload them right away, just thought it would be nice.
Please update this for the new iOS 10 update!! I really would love to connect my phone to my camera! The developer, Samsung Electronics Co. The developer will be required to provide privacy details when they submit their next app update.
